Teak & Wood Restoration

Teak Patio Furniture Restoration in Los Angeles

Outdoor teak does not rot in Los Angeles — it goes silver-gray, dries out, and raises a rough, splintery grain. Restoration is a sequence, not a coat of product: we wash out embedded dirt, mildew, and old failed finish, let the wood dry fully, sand progressively to a smooth surface, then feed the grain with teak oil or a penetrating sealer depending on the look you want. Loose joints, worn bolts, and wobbly seat slats get tightened or replaced while the piece is apart.

What is teak & wood restoration?

Teak patio furniture restoration in Los Angeles is work Patio Restoration Experts performs at our Burbank workshop for homes and commercial properties throughout Los Angeles and Southern California. Gray, dried-out teak and hardwood furniture deep cleaned, sanded, and re-oiled back to warm natural color. Customers send photos of their furniture, receive a free personalized quote, choose materials and finishes, and get the finished pieces back — usually within 1–2 weeks.

What’s included

  • Teak, ipe, eucalyptus, acacia, and other outdoor hardwoods
  • Deep clean that removes mildew, sunscreen, and sprinkler staining
  • Progressive sanding to remove splinters and raised grain
  • Your choice of warm oiled finish or a low-maintenance natural gray-protect sealer
  • Loose slats, stripped bolts, and cracked joinery repaired while apart
  • Matching Sunbrella cushions sewn for the same set if you want them replaced

Our restoration process

  1. 1

    Send photos

Photograph the full piece plus a close-up of the grain and any cracks. That tells us how deep the weathering goes.

  2. 2

    Clean and dry

Wood is cleaned to remove dirt, mildew, and old finish, then allowed to dry completely before any sanding.

  3. 3

    Sand and repair

Progressive sanding smooths raised grain and splinters, and loose joinery is tightened or rebuilt.

  4. 4

    Oil or seal, then return

We apply your chosen finish, let it cure, and deliver the furniture back to your patio.

Common problems we fix

  • Silver-gray, oxidized surface that no longer shows the wood color
  • Rough, splintery grain that catches clothing and skin
  • Mildew, sunscreen, and sprinkler staining soaked into the wood
  • Old varnish or sealer that has peeled and gone patchy
  • Loose seat slats, stripped bolts, and wobbly joinery
  • Dried-out wood that soaks up water and stays damp

Signs restoration is needed

  • The furniture is gray and rough rather than warm and smooth
  • Cleaning it only makes the color look uneven
  • Splinters have made seats uncomfortable to use
  • A previous finish is flaking off in patches
  • The frame is still solid — the surface is the problem

Teak & Wood Restoration questions

In most cases yes. The gray layer is surface oxidation, so cleaning and sanding reveal the warm honey-brown wood underneath, and oil brings the grain color back.
